Customer Success since 2009, from seed-stage startups through IPO. I still do the customer work. I also build the systems behind it.

The thesis

I know how to run Customer Success. Now I can bring a lot more leverage to the job.

Customer Success

The fundamentals

I have built CS motions, owned strategic books, navigated escalations, led executive relationships, protected renewals, and found expansion. I know the playbook, and I know when the playbook is wrong.

Technical depth

Closer to the solution

Coding and solution architecture changed how I work with customers. I can go deeper in discovery, understand the systems behind the problem, prototype solutions, and work directly with technical teams to get from idea to outcome.

AI leverage

More output, faster

Generative AI compresses the distance between thinking and doing. Research, analysis, prototypes, automation, customer deliverables, and internal tools all move faster. The experience is still mine. The execution has a much bigger accelerator.

Career
